part 1 - Firenze

I'm reading Inferno by Dan Brown. The story starts in Florence and describes some of the most famous places of the italian city. It takes the reader for a walk - a fast walk, a treasure hunt - around the old town that everyone would probably enjoy. But if you have been there, it is even better, cause it brings back lots of memories!

And there are so many things that we didn't saw. Back in March the access to the top of il Duomo was closed, so we wen't up the Campanile instead. And I totally recommend that effort. Though the stairs can be a bit claustrophobic there are platforms to take a rest and the final view of the red roofs and towers is amazing. Specially in a sunny day!

Firenze is an elegant old lady full of secrets. Calm enough to move around by bike the city streets guard a collection of beautiful details waiting to be found. The craftsmanship of the stonemasons is present everywhere not only on the walls of the impressive cathedral but in many ordinary houses.

Stationery stores were my perdition! And the cheesecake we had at the Trattoria in Piazza Santo Spirito after crossing il Ponte Vecchio was the best one ever!
